A video recording method where a whole digital image is shown on screen at any given moment. Thus, with 24p, there are 24 full pictures seen every second.
Do not be fooled, however, by some cameras that claim to be Progressive but are really Interlaced. They take the Interlaced image and convert it to Progressive in camera. These camereas often shoot in 30i60i and then convert to "24p"... thus they are not true 24p and not worth any kind of price bump.
